Architect turned product designer.

Colby Bell

I started in architecture, learning to think in structure, light, and how people actually move through a space. Products replaced buildings about 15 years ago, but the habit stuck. Figure out the structure first, then go chase the detail.

I also write the code now. Claude Code and Cursor have basically turned me into a designer who's a little dangerous with a keyboard. Enough that there are real merged PRs with my name on them, not just mockups I handed off and hoped for the best.

My wife Emily (Em) died in 2023, and that flipped the script on a lot of things. We used to travel full time as a family of five, once renovated a school bus and lived in it. Now I'm doing the solo dad version of that adventure instead and creating some content around that #lostbells ✌️🤙
